Heather Skrien
Program ManagerHeather has been working in the field as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) since 2017. Heather earned her Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Integrated Behavioral Health program and is in the process of obtaining her supervision hours for licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Her work experience includes both adult and adolescent co-occurring populations in outpatient and residential settings. Her goal is provide a safe place for clients to openly discuss concerns while providing empathy, compassion, understanding, and different perspectives. Heather primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies in her approach. She is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidenced-based therapy that utilizes eye movements and image replacement in efforts to reduce negative images stored in the brain. When not at work, you can find Heather spending time with her dog, attending dance classes, and adventuring in nature.
