Carissa D., BS, LADC, LSW

Counselor

Carissa graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 2017 where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services with a concentration in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Substance Abuse Counseling. She went on to achieve an additional degree in Social Work before starting her career in the mental health and addictions field. She brings to Nuway a variety of experience and skills working in many different therapeutic settings including prisons, hospitals, community residential treatment facilities, and crisis homes. She is certified as a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is also certified as a Peer Support Specialist and has experience guiding individuals towards achieving independence through intensive outpatient and inpatient programs.   Carissa is very passionate about her work and takes special interest in mental health and trauma therapy. Outside of work Carissa enjoys spending her time with family camping, fishing, wheeling, and snowmobiling.
