CounselorSherrie is a graduate of Bemidji State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor or Science in Applied Psychology, and Chemical Dependency Certificate. Sherrie received her BBHT Approved Supervisor Status in 2018. She has been working as a substance use disorder counselor for over 10 years in co-occurring residential and outpatient programs, and a medication-assisted treatment clinic. Sherrie developed a passion for working with family members of those in treatment during the six years she facilitated a family education support group. Prior to becoming a substance use disorder counselor, Sherrie worked in the mental health field as a mental health practitioner. This experience is what led her to pursue licensure in the substance use disorder field as it became evident there was a tremendous need for greater understanding of addiction and evidence-based treatment.
