NUWAY partners with The University of Minnesota to study recovery housing

NUWAY® and The Center for Practice Transformation at the University of Minnesota are partnering to study the efficacy of quality-managed recovery housing on addiction and mental health outcomes. This study, initiated in the fall of 2019, aims to identify differences in substance use, mental health, and treatment engagement outcomes between people who utilize high-quality recovery housing and those who live elsewhere during treatment. Early indications from the study suggest that the effects of living in recovery housing during treatment are statistically-significant. The findings from this research may further support the development and availability of quality-managed recovery housing — a central tenant of the NUWAY mission, and a primary pillar of its R.I.S.E. model of care.
