Sam Renneberg
CounselorPrior to coming to NUWAY, Sam earned his Associates in Applied Science degree in paralegal studies from the Minnesota School of Business in 2010. After deciding to pursue a career that has always had his interest, he enrolled at the University of South Dakota in the Addiction Counseling and Prevention program and earned his Bachelor of Science degree and LADC license in 2021. Sam is the float counselor at NUWAY I but also provides coverage to the additional 2 medium-intensity residential programs at NUWAY. While working part-time as a float counselor at NUWAY, Sam is pursuing his Master of Arts degree in Addiction Counseling and Prevention from the University of South Dakota and plans to have his LPCC license after graduation. Sam’s interest include trauma and how this impacts our lives, mental health and addiction, and psychedelic therapy research. In his free time, Sam finds himself spending time with his wife and young son, going to the gym or running/hiking on one of the many trails in Minneapolis, and traveling whenever possible.
