NUWAY, in partnership with other Minnesota behavioral healthcare providers, hosted author, speaker, and recovery advocate Ryan Hampton for appearances in Duluth and Rochester. Hampton, a former White House advisor, is the author of “American Fix,” a book inspired by his journey from opioid addiction to recovery. Hampton credits the availability of Medicaid and public services with his ability to achieve recovery and now helps to raise awareness for non-profit treatment providers like NUWAY. Hampton and NUWAY Duluth Program Manager, Angela Gilbertson commented on the events and to spread messages of hope for successful recovery in comments to ABC affiliate WDIO.
